Established in 1906

Welcome to the Wilkeson Eagles #1409.  The Wilkeson Eagles #1409 was chartered in the year 1906. Located in a small mining, logging, and sandstone quarry town of Wilkeson, WA which is nestled in the foothills near Mt Rainier.  We are the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Our goal is to help those in need through the many causes and charities we support. The Eagle motto is "People Helping People".

The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization uniting fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening it's ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.

The F.O.E. was founded in February, 1898 in Seattle, WA by six theater owners gathered in a Seattle shipyard to discuss a musicians strike.  After addressing the matter, they agreed to "bury the hatchet" and form the "order of good things". As numbers grew, members selected the bald eagle as the official emblem and changed the name to "The Fraternal Order of Eagles".  The women's auxiliary traces its roots to 1927.

The F.O.E. donates more than $10 million a year to local communities, fundraisers, charities and more.  As part of its philosophy, the F.O.E. gives back 100 percent of monies raised in the form of grants. Fundraisers are conducted by eight major charities, including kidney, heart, diabetes, cancer and spinal cord injury funds, a children's fund, memorial foundation and the golden eagle fund.

F.O.E. membership exceeds 800,000, with more than 1,500 local Aeries in the U.S. and Canada.  Women's auxiliaries total more the 1,300. Members are recruited by other members and must be sponsored by two members before the membership process begins.

The Wilkeson Eagles #1409 was chartered back in 1906.  The building that occupies the Wilkeson Eagles was built in 1910.  The building has also been home to many Fraternal organizations through its long history.  Those Organizations are as follows, The Order of Knights of Pythias, Pythian Sisters, Improved Order of Red Men, Degree of Pocahontas (Auxiliary of Red Men), Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Rebekah Lodges (Auxiliary of Odd Fellows), Independent Order of Foresters, Ancient Order of Druids, and Knights of the Mystic Lights.  The Wilkeson Eagles is located in Wilkeson, Washington, a small mining, logging, and sandstone quarry town nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier which has a population of about 500 people. The Wilkeson Eagles proudly supports many causes in the local community and national charities.

The Wilkeson Eagles supports national charities which also includes several veteran non-profit charities.  This includes support for the local community in town of Wilkeson, Carbonado, and surrounding communities such as the Miners Memorial, town gazebo, town park, National Wilkeson Handcar Races, Children's Christmas Party, Community Easter Egg Hunt, and the care packages put together from donations from the community during the holidays that include, food, clothing, and toys for those families in need.  We take great pride in our involvement in helping the individuals that are in need of help in our communities throughout the year.

The Wilkeson Eagles Aerie #1409 was charted back in 1906.  While other Fraternal organizations have come and gone in the community, the Wilkeson Eagles has strongly stood fast the test of time in the community.  We choose to keep our Fraternal brothers a close group of people in or the surrounding area near the town of Wilkeson that give a great care for the people in our community.  One other group that has been a main stay over the years is the "Knights of the Mystic Lights" which also calls home in the same building to the Wilkeson Eagles #1409.

The Wilkeson Eagles Women's Auxiliary is also part of the Wilkeson Eagles. The Auxiliary disbanded from the Aerie many decades ago. They have banned together once again to form a new auxiliary. They have been officially been re-chartered in the fall of 2016.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
